BECOMING A HOUSEHOLD NAME THROUGH LYRICS – Erin Enderlin

Living, loving, killing, and dying

The Conway Symphony Orchestra performs throughout the year. Conway is a city in the American state of Arkansas, founded shortly after the Civil War. When the railroad came through, a small tract of land becomed a depot site named “Conway Station”, that contained two small stores, two saloons, a depot, some temporary housing and a post office. Do not forget its “Toad Suck Daze” (one of the city’s largest annual events), it is three-day festival incorporates live music, food and craft vendors, and amusement rides during the first weekend of May. Among its notable people, Gene Hatfield (notable artist and writer) and songwriter Erin Enderlin.

ERIN ENDERLIN is an American Country Music songwriter. She love story songs, because it’s amazing to her how in just three minutes, you can create a whole character, that you can really see and even understand. She penned Alan Jackson’s “Monday Morning Church” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QSH3J6oYic which went to number 5 on the Billboard Country Chart in 2004. Her new album (Whiskeytown Crier), was produced by Jamey Johnson and Jim Brown. She love her grandma (she’s 86 and just got on Facebook), and she’s her number one fan. Her songs have been recorded by Luke Bryan and Lee Ann Womack, Randy Travis and Terri Clark. She was born and raised in Conway (Arkansas), moving to Nashville to pursue a career as an artist and songwriter. When she moved to Nashville, she lived in a house with another songwriter, Chris Stapleton.

MONDAY MORNING CHURCHYou left your Bible on the dresser, so I put it in the drawer, because I can’t seem to talk to God without yelling anymore, and when I sit at your piano I can almost hear those hymns. The keys are just collecting dust but I can’t close the lid. You left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church, it used to be so full of faith and now it only hurts, and I can hear the Devil whisper “Things are only getting worse”. You left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church. The preacher came by Sunday, he said he missed me at the service. He told me Jesus loves me but I’m not sure I deserve it, because the faithful man that you loved is nowhere to be found since they took all that he believed, laid it in the ground. You left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church it used to be so full of faith and now it only hurts, and I can hear the Devil whisper “Things are only getting worse”. You left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church. Well, I still believe in Heaven and I’m sure you’ve made it there, but as for me without your love, girl, I don’t have a prayer, you left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church it used to be so full of faith and now it only hurts, and I can hear the Devil whisper “Things are only getting worse”. You left my heart as empty as a Monday morning church, you left your Bible on the dresser, so I put it in the drawer.
