TO BE AN ITALIAN AUTODIDACT PAINTER – Alex Bertaina: by the incomprehensible scribbles, to the delicate landscaped watercolors

1ALEX BERTAINA 1/3 – Maybe his sky and sea are united (as our existence), between transport towards nature and departure from it, and they shall treat these wounds. At the beginning he met Marco Lattes, who helped him to correct his watercolourist’s gaps. In 2001, he met Jean Louis Droit, a French art dealer, whom opened for him the European scene (since then it has been a succession of shows!).8

ALEX BERTAINA 2/3 – Since he was a child, drawing has been to him a prime channel of expression. At school he enjoyed drawing pictures from the incomprehensible scribbling made by his classmates. In the early 1990’s he had almost a close pictorial association with his friend Pierpaolo Giraudo (with whom he shared a trip to the Aosta Valley in search of picturesque views). In 2014 he met the art dealer Andrew Hillier, landing to England (where he exposed to the Hillier Gallery, in Stratford upon Avon).15

ALEX BERTAINA 3/3 – Yes, he is an autodidact painter, an Italian painter, born in Turin, but he lives and work in Cuneo (in North West Italy). http://www.bertaina.it/ Since 1995, he have expanded his views to the north of Italy, while participating to various national competitions. Recently, Lawson Bell invited he to exhibit in his gallery Bell Fine Art in Winchester. In 2015, he was invited to participate as a Art Master at Art Revolution Taipei 2015.logo-meeting-benches
