To finish your outing in Ins, you do not forget the Albert Anker House. http://www.albert-anker.ch/en/atelier.html This stunning farmhouse contain the Anker studio. He was born in this house and spent much of his life there. Everything looks just as it did in those days. It was as if the painter had just left the house for a moment. The room conveys a great deal of the artistic spirit and prevailing tastes of those times.
The impressive house – Albert Anker-Haus Müntschemiergasse 7 3232 Ins – was constructed in 1803 by Albert Anker’s grandfather, and the furniture and furnishings are chiefly arranged in exactly the same manner as when Anker and his successors left the house. As you can see, unique in that way is the original studio. Albert Anker build it in his fathers house, used it during his lifetime and collected a great number of personal objects. During winter months, he lived for years with his wife Anne (and later with his children), in Paris. Summers were spent in the family house in Ins: where he drew the majority of his famous paintings with residents of the village as models. Here also he died in 1910, at the age of 79 years.
