At 72 miles from Aberdeen, you can take the A944 road, turning left shortly after, on the A974. We will meet here, on a hill called Barmekin ofEcht. http://www.visitgrantown.co.uk/ A special place in the County of Moray, a typical small Scottish town that I need to visit at least once every year. Why? There are – in the world – many fortified places, like this (Iron Age), with five rounds of concentric moats. A village with just over two thousand people, a small museum, a church and two cemeteries. 
If you like the atmosphere of the castles, you can write down these names in your address book: Ballindalloch Castle, Balmoral Castle, Brodie Castle and Dunrobin Castle. If you love rock climbing, do not forget to go to Huntly’s Cave Crag (just five miles from the city), while for the mountaing biking you should Anagach Woods. For a typical night, make a note of this name: J & J’s B & B, but do not forget a hot chocolate at Tigh na Sgiath Country House Hotel.
