The novel A suitable boy https://www.amazon.com/Suitable-Boy-Novel-Modern-Classics/dp/0060786523, follows the story of four families (over a period of 18 months), and centres on Mrs. Rupa Mehra’s efforts, to arrange the marriage of her younger daughter, to a suitable boy. Her story, revolves around the choice she is forced to make between her suitors. A Suitable Boy, remains the story of ordinary people, caught up in a web of love and sadness, prejudice and reconciliation, the most delicate social etiquette, and the most appalling violence.
