THE HIGH TATRAS / SLOVAKIA – Touching to the sky, looking waterfalls and rare animals

When we say High Tatras, we mean majestic peaks touching to the sky, dark turquoise mountain lakes, waterfalls and rare animals. The massif has several valleys, which lend themselves to winter sports and hiking, or even mountain-climbing. The snow is abundant during the cold season, and allows skiing up until April. The panorama is exceptional, offering fabulous views of the massifs. The different valleys, form an integrated network, and they are linked by bus and train, that passes through very picturesque areas. Stary Smokovec is a lovely place for mountain-climbers and tourists, an ideal starting point for light-weight summer mountainous trips. Only 30 minutes far from the ground cableway you will find waterfalls of Cold Creek.

Poprad city, is the most important (economic, cultural and tourist centres) of the Spis region, where you can find a lot of great accommodation facilities (and also a popular thermal aquapark AquaCity). Tatranska Lomnica (one of the most beautiful settlements in High Tatras), it is situated at the foothill of Lomnicky Peak. It is perfect for skiers, but you can also find futuristic scooter and mountainboard. Strbske Pleso is a favorite ski and health resort in the High Tatras. It’s Strbske tarn, is a glacial mountain lake. This site is a perfect starting point for hikes to Krivan and Rysy.
