DEJEUNER EN PAIX – Stephan Eicher

Stephan Eicher is a Swiss songwriter, born in Münchenbuchsee (Swiss municipality in the canton of Bern) in 1960. At the age 17, he and his younger brother founded a punk techno group called “Grauzone”. The hit single “Eisbar” brought the sale of 500,000 copies in Germany and Switzerland. During this period he occasionaly met his future manager and this way his solo career started. In the 1990s, Stephan had recorded two albums, which had international successes and established his reputation.

In 1985 he was noted in France with a song called Two people in a room. In 2001 his first best greatest hits compilation album entitled Hotel*s was released. For many years, the hotel on the Swiss Engelberg was his second home. Following year was the turn of Taxi Europa, a record in which he also sang in Italian. Over the years he was able to conquer Europe singing in German, French, English and Italian. The song “Dejeuner En Paix” was also number two in France.

Münchenbuchsee is famous also as the birthplace of painter Paul Klee. The Hofwil, Hofwil and Hofwil Castle are listed as Swiss heritage of national importance. Here, in Bernstrasse 3, you can eat at the Bären Buchsi appreciated by tourists and locals. http://www.baerenbuchsi.ch/

 DEJEUNER EN PAIX – J’abandonne sur une chaise le journal du matin. Les nouvelles sont mauvaises d’où qu’elles viennent. J’attends qu’elle se réveille et qu’elle se lève enfin. Je souffle sur les braises pour qu’elles prennent. Cette fois je ne lui annoncerai pas. La dernière hécatombe je garderai pour moi ce que m’inspire le monde. Elle m’a dit qu’elle voulait si je le permettais déjeuner en paix, déjeuner en paix. Je vais à la fenêtre et le ciel ce matin. N’est ni rose ni honnête pour la peine. Est-ce que tout va si mal? Est-ce que rien ne va bien? L’homme est un animal, me dit-elle. Elle prend son café en riant. Elle me regarde à peine. Plus rien ne la surprend sur la nature humaine. C’est pourquoi elle voudrait enfin si je le permets déjeuner en paix. Je regarde sur la chaise le journal du matin. Les nouvelles sont mauvaises d’où qu’elles viennent. Crois-tu qu’il va neiger? Me demande-t-elle soudain. Me feras-tu un bébé pour Noël? Et elle prend son café en riant. Elle me regarde à peine. Plus rien ne la surprend sur la nature humaine c’est pourquoi elle voudrait enfin si je le permets déjeuner en paix, déjeuner en paix.
