He is an Iranian-American author, whose novel “Rooftops of Tehran” was acclaimed by critics in 2009. Mahbod Seraji was born in Bandar Anzali in 1956. He moved to the United States in 1976 to attend the university. He received his BS in Civil Engineering, MA in Broadcasting and Film, and Ph.D. in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Iowa. Currently, he is a well-respected international management consultant. Writing a novel, he examined the human cost of political repression, speaking of the human condition regardless of culture, religion, and nationality. Telling a story of friendship, love and hope, author presents the life and customs in Iran on the verge of a revolution.

But the bliss of Pasha and Zari’s stolen time together is shattered when Pasha unwittingly acts as a beacon for the Shah’s secret police. The violent consequences awaken him to the reality of living under a powerful despot, and lead Zari to make a shocking choice. The novel was one of the Top 25 in bookclubs in 2009.
