MASTERPIECES OF ART IN THE CENTURIES / AMSTERDAM – Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum: Wheatfield with Crows, by Vincent Van Gogh

Everyone loves to travel, but not everyone loves to travel the same way. All you have to do is have the time of your life. Meeting Benches. The way to making the world a better place is easy.

900 paintings and more than a thousand drawings, a misunderstood genius in life and a profound influence in the art of the twentieth century. He is Vincent Van Gogh, with difficulties in relationships with other painters, along with mental disorders who accompany him to an early death – at age 37 – with a self-inflicted wound. He began drawing as a child, continuing to draw despite the opposition of his father, until he decided to become a true artist, at the age of twenty-seven. Working for art dealers, he traveled a lot between The Hague, London and Paris, where the French impressionist painters they paint his creative horizon. A second geographical horizon, one in southern France, will determine the strong contrasts (color and light) inside his way to painting. The effect of sunlight, a coordinated geographic had become a mental latitude. www.vangoghmuseum.nl

Wheatfield with Crows (a painting in oil on canvas 50.5 x 103 cm), was realized by him in July 1890, but that distant summer is never over, and you you can feel that season to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, where this work of art is preserved. The art critics, they perceive in this paint a tormented state representation of the painter’s soul. You observe that dark and threatening sky, and ask yourself where the three paths going in different directions, but do not forget to watch the crows, harbinger of death and doom.
