XAVIER GOSE I ROVIRA 1/4 – He provided illstrations for several well-known magazines. Gosé’s oeuvre has been defined as something between modernisme and art deco. A frequent customer at “Els Quatre Gats”, he held an exhibition of his drawings, then, he moved to Paris. XAVIER GOSE’ I ROVIRA 2/4 – The artist was inspired by the everyday of cafès-concert, midinettes, by prostitutes, strollers in the boulevards, by horse racing, sportsmen, and Montmartre. Two years later, he contributed as a caricaturist for two satirical magazines. He also participated in several exhibitions (throughout Spain and in Mexico). XAVIER GOSE’ I ROVIRA 3/4 – His refined and elegant style perfectly caught the essence of the fashion and silhouettes of French society. When World War I began, he returned to Catalonia, and died of tuberculosis. That same year, a retrospective of his work was organized at the “Reial Cercle Artístic de Barcelona”. Gosé’s artwork could be described as Catalan Modernism and Art Decó. XAVIER GOSE’ I ROVIRA 4/4 – Its refined and elegant colored stroke, made an universe, the aesthetic universe of implants gose. His creative imprint on a generation of artists, they sublimate a time that was overshadowed by the outbreak of the great war, all coinciding with the death of the artist when he was at the peak of his career.
