VIKTOR POPKOV 1/4 – He was born next to the spring, and he studied at the Surikov Moscow Art Institute. Its paintings, are characterized by dramatic tension, painting around social themes, and psychological insight, into persons and situations. As you can observe, he was also influenced by the colourism of Matisse.
VIKTOR POPKOV 2/4 – Its works, can be divided into three periods: Romantic Socialist Realism, the Austere style and Symbolism. Inside its works, you can observe a diverse set of “feel”, which dealt with emotional issues of loneliness. Looking its paintings, you need to remember that he was a keen observer of human nature.
VIKTOR POPKOV 3/4 – He was a pioneer of the austere painting style. Its unusual composition, you can not observe inside the nature. He spent time in a villages – along the river Mezen, Arkhangelsk region – which informed some of the more introspective works of his career.
VIKTOR POPKOV 4/4 – Its last creative period, was marked by symbolism. Most of Popkov’s paintings, are at the Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum in St Petersburg. Combining elements of socialist realism, with self-awareness and humanity, its creativity – still now – remaine a tribute to the human dreaming effort.
