INNISFREE, THE ISLAND ON THE LAKE
I will arise and go now, go to Innisfree, and build a hut there, made of clay and reeds. Nine rows in beans will have there, a hive for the honey bees, and I’ll be in the clear just buzzing bee. And I’ll have a bit ‘of peace there, for peace comes down drop by drop, he descended from the veils of the morning to where the cricket sings. Midnight’s all a glimmer there, the afternoon is purple glow. The evening is full of the linnet’s wings. I will arise and go now, for always night and day I hear lake water lapping with slight sounds the bank. Standing in the street, on the pavements gray, I hear it in the deep intimacy of the heart.
