http://www.visitgreece.gr/en/greek_islands/crete In the heart of the Mediterranean he was born “I Strata tis Kritis”, a new path that is added to the great Europeans Paths. If your holiday destination is Greece, not to forget the “Cretan way”, a journey of 500 km in the island of Crete. If you love to walk in contact with nature, listening to you, certainly know the way GR20 in Corsica, the Camino de Santiago and the Via Francigena, but in 2016 you can add to your special opportunities gallery also the island of Crete. Volunteers from all over the world, have made possible this opportunity – working from 2010 – for the tracing of paths and the affixing of signs identifying the places where to spend the night, gathering in a book (The Cretan Way of Luca Gianotti) all the necessary information. Yes, if you want to walk to a place with a “deep walking” trip, you can find information in the internet address www.cammini.eu and maybe even you buy the special guide “Cretan Way”, but before you decide (you can also consider the period 14 to 23 October 2016, if you want to see a sea made of flowers), you can read some basic information. In the west of the island, you can give yourself Byzantine churches, the Samaria Gorge and Agia Irini, together with the ruins of Lissos, until the peninsula of Paleohora. The “Cretan Way” part from the East, from Kato Zakros beach, coming to West up to the monastery of Chrisoskalitisa, beautifully overlooking the sea. https://e4crete.wordpress.com/
