XU ZHI MO, POEM – ANOTHER FAREWELL FROM CAMBRIDGE

Still a leave of CambridgeXu Zhi Mo (1895-1931)

LUI.1

“I left in silence,

as quietly arrived;

soft move my hand,

to greet the clouds.

 1.1

Those golden willows on the bank,

brides are like the setting sun;

shadow in the reflections of the waves,

moves my heart.

 Waterlilies above the muddy water,

under move slowly, oily;

I would stay in the waves read,

I grass river.

2.1

That pool shade degl’olmi,

it is not clear spring, is rainbow in the sky;

crushed between the floating algae,

in sediments of my dream-rainbow.

3.1Looking for a dream? Move a long oar,

I go where the grass is greener;

boat full of starlight,

and singing beautifully wrapped by the light of stars.

No, I can not sing,

Music is the silence of detachment;

even the summer insects are silent,

Silence is Cambridge tonight.

COPERTINA.1

I left in silence,

as quietly arrived;

acted just the sleeve,

but not with me not even a puff of cloud.”
