In 1957, she recorded her first song, in both Greek and English, meeting a Greek composer that offered to write songs for her. In 1961, NANA MOUSKOURI http://www.nana.mouskouri.online.fr/ performed a soundtrack of a German documentary about Greece, and her single White Roses from Athens it became a success. She has been married twice: firstly to a guitarist in her backing band, then to her sound technician. In 2006, she made a guest appearance at that year’s Eurovision Song Contest, in Greece.
In 1965, NANA MOUSKOURI recorded her second English-language album in the United States, entitled Nana Sings. American singer Harry Belafonte heard and liked the album. Belafonte brought Mouskouri on tour with him through 1966. After a year, she had her first appearance at Paris’ legendary Olympia concert theatre. In 1979, she released another English-language album (Roses and Sunshine), consisting of folk and country material.
