The unreal characters are actually figments of writer’s imagination. They are obviously exaggerated. The first half of the novel “Solo“, is bursting with true stories centred on the life and times of the 100-year-old man who lives in Bulgaria for most of the 20th Century. Inside this turbulent history there’s a glamour to the early pages, where you can find the ferment of revolution and the absurdity of the communist years.
