WHEN EACH NEW DISCOVERY IS ANOTHER MAGICAL MOMENT – Donald James Zolan: paint the magical moments of childhood

DONALD JAMES ZOLAN 1/3 – A positive man, he saw the good in every human being. He was born in Illinois on August 11, 1937, in a bungalow in the small town of Brookfield. He had a way of curious approach: when he met someone for the first time, he always used to say “Hello, I’m Donald Zolan, an artist, a humble Illinois artist”. This is the man that most of the world will know, in the years to come, as the beloved American childhood painter.

 

DONALD JAMES ZOLAN 2/3 – Continually rediscovered in him the innocent and curious child, making appreciate it was able to continually discover the joys of life. He begins his day with meditation, painting until late at night, with classical music that accompanied his days. His was a family of creative people (sculptors, painters, engravers and wood carvers from Germany and the Czech Republic). He started painting at the age of three years and his creative painting will remain his love for life. He was a home and family man, a human being whose only passion in life was to create an art that would last long after him.

DONALD JAMES ZOLAN 3/3 – He loved little children, the way their eyes light up with excitement as they awaken to the world around them. It’s a marvelous time of life, filled with wonderment. A time when each new discovery is another magical moment. His devotion to capturing the magical moments of childhood reflect back on Zolan’s own happy childhood in Brookfield, Illinois. He found that his passion was his fine art paintings, which were shown in galleries and museums around the world. Finally, he opened his own gallery in Nantucket.
