ITALIAN RENAISSANCE MUSIC

The art of music through a happy time in the Renaissance. In the sixteenth century, in fact, the arts and sciences had a period of revival and renewal. Secular music, became important with the development of vocal polyphony, and Italy was the center of those renovations. In several cities they were built of musical activity centers, generating two specific musical forms: the madrigal and the canard. The madrigal coniugaca a collection that went from four to six voices, and its main theme was love. The canard (typically Italian musical form, usually for four voices), was born at the court of Mantua, and his was a popular content, in a poetic-musical form.
