A HEART SO WHITE – Romance by Javier Marías

He is a Spanish writer, his books are translated all over the world. He is the grandson of a filmmaker and son of a philosopher. Thanks to his uncle, Javier Marías began working in the film industry, but also manages to graduate in English Philology. For two years he taught Spanish literature at the University of Oxford, later becoming professor of Theory and Translation at the Complutense University of Madrid, where he lives. He made his debut as a writer early, at age 19. In 1979 he published “El monarch del tiempo”, “El siglo” in 1983 and “El hombre sentimental” in 1986. He has translated many important Anglo-Saxon authors.

Leafing through the pages of the novel “A Heart So White“, you know two people who have just joined in marriage. Him, since their honeymoon, is enveloped by foreboding, by a strange malaise. He perceives that the cause of his anxiety is inside obscurities of his past, his family, but is not able to dig in its origins.
