GAETANO CAPONE 1/2 – He is the son of a painter. Along his career, he was the greatest exponent of an artistic movement, the one where the painters were nicknamed “Painters of Maiori.” He was the founder of an artistic experience that has grown on the Amalfi coast. In his works, the landscape it has become one load concerns and passion space, where the colors and chromatic vibration dance, even without music. He moved to Rome, where he worked to paint the frescoes in the Basilica of San Lorenzo.
GAETANO CAPONE 2/2 – His pictorial sensibility, is that you can easily perceive, always, in the color variations that have been captured in his paintings. His innate talent between oil and watercolor, he realistically tells the places and the customs of his land. His eyes are open – and closed – in the province of Salerno, always on a summer day. He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts in Naples, and even the Roman Accademia di San Luca. He started with the painting of landscape, then moved to paint genre subjects and portraits. His artistic maturity, collects the scenery of the Amalfi Coast.
