PAUL SIGNAC 1/4 – He is an artist who has given birth – along with Georges Seurat – the painting technique of Pointillism. The life of this Parisian artist, in love with the French Riviera, is like a catalog of exhibitions dedicated to him regularly: paintings, watercolors and drawings by an artist in love with the color. PAUL SIGNAC 2/4 – He was born in Paris and lived in Montmartre, a place that you – as well as Montparnasse – come from all over the world originally creative people. He, of that world, knew perfectly every atelier, coffee, cabaret and art gallery. Him, the boy who did not complete his studies in architecture, he was 18 years old when he attended “The Black Cat” and met Albert Samain, the Prince of Wales and Victor Hugo.
PAUL SIGNAC 3/4 – He will be a great friend of Georges Seurat, like him sensitive to the scientific art of pointillism. When his friend dies, he seeks a path along the water, to get away from the pain, going along the coasts of Brittany and the port of Saint-Tropez, Antibes up to elect as final destination of his life. Using strident colors – even acids – before dying in one day in mid-August, he concretely develop the idea which is the painting itself to create light. 
PAUL SIGNAC 4/4 – The Pointillism was a painting technique that are based on the principle of decomposition of light into spectral colors. This technique, in the approach consisted of tiny fragments of pigment on canvas. These small fragments are dots. These dots, observed from a distance, make up the chromatic vibration in the retina of our eyes, giving us a sense of color variation. He developed this technique in a personal way, which was to become characteristic of his style: by replacing the dots of square color touches, like the pieces of a mosaic.
