THE BORDER – Poetry, by Ana Blandiana

THE BORDER

I am seeking the principle of evil, as a child I tried the margins of the rain. With all ran forces, to find the place where to sit on the ground, and contemplate the one part rain, on the one hand no rain. But always the rain stopped, before they found out the boundaries, and began again, first to understand until where it is serene. They grew up in vain. With all my strength I run again, to find the place where to sit down, and contemplate the line that separates good from evil. But always evil stops, before they discover the boundary, and starts, before realizing how far it is good. I seek the principle of evil on this earth, once and for gray and sunny again.
