THE JAPANESE LOVER – Novel by Isabel Allende

A love story, one that fly from San Francisco to Poland, to the story of the concentration camps where Japanese Americans were imprisoned during the Second World War. Reading this novel you will know a woman (Alma, cultured and wealthy), who decides to make the last part of her life in San Francisco, in a residence for seniors. Normality of her days (along with her nephew Seth), comes a young nurse named Irina. You listen Alma, while telling to the two young the love story most important of her life, the one with a Japanese named Ichi. Of course, the pages are surrounded by the events of a nation that is crossed by the horrors of World War II (with American citizens of Japanese ancestry who were deported to concentration camps), but they are pages that welcome love, with wounds to treat.
