THE SOAVE PANTHER – Poetry by Marly de Oliveira

A PANTERA SOAVE

Como qualquer animal, olha as grades flutuantes. Eis que as grades são fixas: ela, sim, é andante.

Sob a pele, contida (em silêncio e lisura), a força do seu mal, e a doçura, a doçura, que escorre pelas pernas e as pernas habitua a esse modo de andar, de ser sua, no perfeito equilíbrio de sua vida aberta: uma e atenta a si mesma, uavíssima pantera.

THE SOAVE PANTHER

Like any animal, look at the floating bars. Here the bars are still: she, yes, it is ambulatory. Come qualsiasi animale, guarda le sbarre fluttuanti. Ecco che le sbarre son ferme: lei, sì, è deambulante. Sotto la pelle, trattenuta (in silenzio e morbidezza), la forza del suo male, e la dolcezza, la dolcezza, che scende nelle zampe e le zampe abitua a quel modo di andare, e di essere suo, suo, nel perfetto equilibrio della sua vita aperta: attenta a se stessa soavissima pantera.
