FRANCESCO HAYEZ 2/4 – In his long artistic career, after his debut in Classicism, Romanticism historical creative nuance becomes essential. One of his paintings, in particular, embodies his special approach to history, romanticized: “The Kiss”. He is a portrait of a historical epoch – the Italian one – that we can observe in the faces of the men who lived through those years eventful.

FRANCESCO HAYEZ 3/4 – He, independent artist, painted the flesh and the spirit of his time. His landscapes are stained, his painting style is prospective, queen of his works is the good use of light. The story that you observe, in what he has created, is always enclosed within two constraints of expression: the subjects of the works, and the public to which they are destined.12.POST.2

FRANCESCO HAYEZ 4/4 – Him about his “The Kiss”, was accused of having shown a Juliet too carnal. She, in fact, seems to kiss her lover with excessive transport. Looking at that picture, do not forget that Juliet is the portrait of a real woman (Carolina, his model and lover). That painting is also a hymn to a new nation, while embracing her ally, France.
