NEWS OF HUNGER – Poetry of Federico Díaz Granados

NEWS OF HUNGER

“Are inhabited by hunger. And all they tell me.
It is not the fear or doubt,
just a rhythm intact, that does not touch the beach with his salt.
Hunger is perhaps a slight testament,
or this insistence on destroying the house,
and renew the stone in a dream.

Little is what I remember of me at this time, the dispersed,
what to weather is a little grass,
a word without a suit that smells of other lands
and stares face foreigner all given joys.

Comes the hunger, with his own case and his identical wishes.
A rain is in the flesh,
and a few things like the old love,
now that does not count.

Hunger is. And all they tell me.
It is not the slight testament, nor the sadness of the nights.
It is not poetry,
or the music that translates the time.

A little hungry,
and fatigue to fill the shelves of absences.”
