DON’T DISMISS YOUR DREAMS BECAUSE DREAMS: Poetry by Pedro Salinas

DON’T DISMISS YOUR DREAMS BECAUSE DREAMS
Don’t dismiss your dreams because they are dreams.
All dreams can be reality,
If the dream does not end.
The reality is a dream.
If we dream that the stone is stone,
This is the stone.
What flows in the rivers is not water,
is a dream, the crystalline water.
Reality dream disguise, and says:
“I am the Sun, heaven, love”.
But never disappears, never passes,
If we are pretending to believe that it is more than a dream.
And live dreaming it.
Dream, is the means which the soul has
Why not flee ever what would flee
If we stop dreaming that is reality,
What does not exist.
Dies only a love that has stopped being dreamt,
did matter and that you find on Earth.
