INDIAN CONTEMPORARY POETRY: With Anita Nair, shaking bells, listening to a catatonic heart

HELLO LASCIVIOUSNESS – By Anita Nair
lei.1lei.1

I would see due lasciviousness when it arrived,
I should have known at this point.
Since coming to see you
shaking bells on the door,
scented sun, grass, of cunning desires.
Because you strip a feather on the soul,
and stirs your heart catatonic heart,
and sends to your brain small rhythmic notes.
Because you hugs,
and stifles the uncertainties daily.
And then staring at you in the eye and you plant.
Since nothing promises,
and then leaves you to drift,
to calculate the time with a growing pile of why.
Because later pretends not to have been,
and that all that is happened was nothing more than a state of mind,
that goes forgotten and thrown behind.”1.11.1
