UNITED COLOURS OF WINE – In vino veritas. In wine is truth

SHORT ABC ABOUT WINEA: Titus Maccius Plautus: Let us celebrate the occasion with wine and sweet words. B: Robert Louis Stevenson: Wine is bottled poetry. D: Paul Tillich: Wine is like the incarnation – it is both divine and human. E: Alexander Fleming: Penicillin cures, but wine makes people happy. F: Latin Proverb: Without bread and wine, love goes hungry. G: Galileo Gallilei: Wine is sunlight held together by water. TASTE THE LIFE CUPS – Paulo Coelho: Accept what life offers you and try to drink from every cup. All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle. GIVEN TIME – Carl Jung: We are born at a given moment, in a given place and, like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the year and the season of which we are born. Astrology does not lay claim to anything more. MEETING – Pablo Neruda: I like on the table, when we’re speaking, the light of a bottle of intelligent wine. PRECISE AND PERFECTION – Ernest Hemingway: Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing. MAN & WINE – Pope John XXIII: Men are like wine – some turn to vinegar, but the best improve with age. SPIRIT OF WINE – William Shakespeare: O thou invisible spirit of wine, if thou hast no name to be known by, let us call thee devil.  AS YOU WISH – Charles Baudelaire: It is time to get drunk! So as not to be the martyred slaves of Time, get drunk; get drunk without stopping! On wine, on poetry, or on virtue, as you wish. THROUGH THE MOUTH – WB Yeats: Wine enters through the mouth, Love, the eyes. I raise the glass to my mouth, I look at you, I sigh. HEART OF ANOTHER – An Old French proverb: In water one sees one’s own face; but in wine, one beholds the heart of another. SAVOUR A DROPLET – Clifton Fadiman: To take wine into our mouths is to savor a droplet of the river of human history. HYGIENIC AND HEALTHY – Louis Pasteur: Wine is the most healthful and most hygienic of beverages.
