ZHAO KAILIN (1961), CHINESER EALIST PAINTER – When each painting evolves from personal stories.

A young girl’s elegant composure, inside a uncertain gaze.

Its name means “Oyster Wharf” in Chinese. Here was born Realist painter Zhao Kailin. Bengbu is a city in northern Anhui Province, China. Its dishes are one of the three flavors of Anhui cuisine. Here there are beautiful and tranquil place. In the south Huaiyuan County, White Milk Spring gets the name after its milk white spring water. Its spring sprouts, gushing mineral-rich water all seasons in the center of Chunyang Temple. Don’t forget, the spring water is suitable for making tea.

During his training, he studied Italian Renaissance painter Caravaggio and Dutch Renaissance master Rembrandt, because he was intrigued by their use of colour. His elegant young women is always anxious, showing a dignified inner strength. ZHAO KAILIN’S work has been shown throughout Asia, Europe and the U.S. His Neoclassicism vision, as you can perceive, is a fusion of realistic technique. In a silent atmosphere, his women suggests purity of spirit. Most of his women, dressed in traditional Chinese attire, are asian. His paintings capture the aura of young women, evoking dreams. He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, but he was born in Bengbu (China) in a December day. Drawing from the Western tradition as well as Chinese culture, ZHAO KAILIN narrates the direct gaze of his subjects with a quiet aesthetic that speaks of beauty. A master of the contemporary realist oil painting movement, he studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, in Beijing. Each painting evolves from personal stories. He is one of the most important Chinese artists of contemporary realism, with his original personal narratives of Chinese females.
