SHAHRAM KARIMI 1/2 – He lives and works between Germany and the United States, but he was born in 1957 in Iran, growing up in Shiraz. He is a self-taught artist, who has achieved success both in his country and in the West. http://www.shahramkarimi.com/ His paintings depict the dilemma of contemporary Iranian, seeking identity combining the present with the past and the future. Each of his paintings tells a fragment of his memories, piece of his personal past. On his canvas overlooks the past simplicity, with people, flowers and atmospheres of an Iranian village.
