KUSUMA AFFANDI 2/3 – Around the 30’s, he joined the “Five-Group” (five painters, of which he was the leader of the group), which have greatly contributed to the development of Indonesian painting. He is known as a painter adhering to abstract flow or expressionism. In the 1950s, he held many personal exhibitions abroad and in 1974 he received the Doctorate Honoris Causa from the University of Singapore.
