PAINTING GOTIC INQUIRY

ANDRES BARRIOQUINTO 1/2 – He was born in Manila IN 1975, but his family changed his residence several times due to the nature of his father’s work (a writer and publisher). After spending teen age in Hong Kong, he returned to Manila to get his college education. Starting 2011, he began to paint with a deeply stratified style. He is an artist known for his surreal portraits, stratified with Japanese style and patterns. At the beginning of his career he had moved away from Realism. Evolution, is the word, which describes the current state of his artistic practice.

ANDRES BARRIOQUINTO 2/2 – His old paintings were dark and grotesque images. He believed, that his art did not have to be beautiful, because he liked to portray even the harshest realities. His works have been found in private collections and in the Museum of Art of Singapore. Graduated in 2000 in Fine Arts, he attended personal exhibitions in Philippines and Singapore. Few years after graduation, he became the most interesting and award-winning artist of his generation. Now his gothic paintings are less disturbing and more colorful. https://www.facebook.com/iyabarrioquinto/
