FERNANDO VIGNOLI (1960/2016), BRAZILIAN EXPRESSIONIST PAINTER – Painting doors, walls and water

SHADES OF EXPRESSIONISM, SURREALISM AND POP ART

FERNANDO VIGNOLI 1/3 – The artist, professionally known as Vignoli, was a Brazilian painter and sculptor and was born in Belo Horizonte in 1960. He loved to associate his works with Expressionism and Realism and loved to associate shades of Italian metaphysical painting. He graduated in Visual Communication at the School of Visual Arts. In 1982 he opened his first studio in his hometown. With universal language, his painting is understandable anywhere in the world, and everyone is able to understand it. FERNANDO VIGNOLI 2/3 – He had developed his own technique of interpretation of human dramas. In his work you can perceive Picasso and Munch, but also Magritte and Dalí. The content of some of his poetic scenes is the product of dream language. In the 1990s, he had polarized the artistic scene with itinerant happenings and exhibitions. Hence, he had begun creating art outside the country, enchanting world of music and the arts. Since 2003, he had his studio in New York, and his work had begun to enrich the artistic curiosity of museums and collectors. FERNANDO VIGNOLI 3/3 – He liked to invent events or paint during a football game, but left us paintings in the church of Santa Rita de Cassia (São Pedro district, south of Belo Horizonte). In 2002, he turned his studio into a restaurant called “Casa di Vignoli”. Until 2013, he had exhibited his works in more than 20 countries. The painter and sculptor, who started his career in 1980 died on a December day of 2016 in Belo Horizonte, due to a disease at 56 years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0t7JpPgIy4
