THE MACABRE DANCE – The Death triumph in Clusone, Italy

In Val Seriana (province of Bergamo), there is a medieval building commissioned by the brotherhood of governing. Visiting this site, you’ll find the memory of old fear – the plague. The Triumph of Death and Danse Macabre are visible in the outer part of the oratorio. Triumphant Death is personified as a skeleton, with a cloak and crown above her head. In Triumph of Death, Death has indeed the appearance of a queen who submits all to herself.
