Author Biography

ROBERT DOESBURG – Do you know what art is? I do not. I only try to make it.

ROBERT DOESBURG 1/3 – was born in Rotterdam in 1945 in the Netherlands. He is self-taught painter. He painted all his life, but full time since 1995. He became famous with his style to picture the world in squared manner. Painting this way gives him opportunities to use much more colors, to show surprising effects and sparkling images, independent of the subject.

ROBERT DOESBURG  2/3 – He considers himself as an aesthetic sensualist, always looking for beauty and always trying to paint with intuition and feeling. This emotional language has to radiate from his artworks. The topic of his pictures is usually quite simple: people or animals.

ROBERT DOESBURG  3/3 – His statement: “Do you know what art is? I do not. I only try to make it.” Method he uses in painting: Oil and Softpastel
