The Vitruvian Man, is a drawing by Leonardo da Vinci. https://leonardodavinci.stanford.edu/submissions/clabaugh/history/leonardo.html It is accompanied by notes based on the work of the architect Vitruvius. The drawing, depicts a man in two superimposed positions with his arms and legs apart and inscribed in a circle and square. Leonardo’s image has become much more than a literal illustration of a proportional canon. Over the centuries it has developed into a cultural icon adopted by various causes that Vitruvius never dreamed of. That perfectly proportioned man, correlating the symmetry of human anatomy with the symmetry of the universe, it’s also what you everyday see, hear, eat and feel, also the music of the country hosting you: Slovenia.
Its age is estimated at approximately 55,000 years. Yes, the Divje Babe flute (an artifact found in a cave near Cerkno), is possibly the oldest known musical instrument ever. The music of Slovenia is closely related to Austrian music. In the minds of many foreigners, Slovenian folk music means a form of polka, however, there are many styles of Slovenian folk music. The history of modern Slovenian music, can be traced back to the 5th century, when liturgical hymns were introduced, and became the first plainchant to make a connection to the peoples’ language. During the medieval era, secular music was as popular as church music. Based on Italian models, in 1701, Johann Berthold von founded the Academia Philharmonicorum Labacensis.
