Well, let’s start with the Rheinfähre (a must for those who arrive in this city), because the Rhine river crossing by boat is truly a special experience. Those boats use the force of the current to pass from one side, but you will not have to worry if – during the crossing – you’ll see a number of people who let themselves go to the river current (with floating bags containing their clothes). In fact, they’re not drowning, but across the river in an original way.
Kunstmuseum? The Museum of Fine Arts is waiting for us. In this museum, the structure is very interesting, because it is easily accessible. It must be at least an hour and a half to visit it, but it works and frames in high visibility, with a truly perfect light. In floor dedicated to 1900, houses many Picasso, Braquet and legere, dahlias Chagall, but our true gift, will admire the paintings of Bocklin (yes, there ‘s also a version of the Isle of the Dead, but do not forget divremo to search the room where you see the Bride in the Wind, of Kokoshka.
Of course, we can also go to the Cathedral. Like all Protestant churches, you will find that the interior is bare, but the windows are wonderful. If you want, we can also see the tomb of Erasmus. The outside of Munster – located in the center of the city – is very characteristic and also ancient. Do not forget to photograph the cloister. This church is the symbol of Basel, a city that we can also see from above, because there is the possibility to climb on one of the two peaks (on the way up, we can also access the ports and tunnels, up to the top of the spire).
Tinguely-Brunnen is no ordinary fountain, but animated creation that forces you to look at every detail. The original and explosive genius of Jean Tinguely – a craftsman with iron scrap has made art, with his creations in various locations in the city – with its 10 self-propelled installations, waiting at sunset (when the area is quieter) they are all to be enjoyed and photographed. Some say it looks like something out of the creativity of Jules Verne, but it is extremely pleasant to spend your time trying to figure out what they represent the strange object from which the water comes.
