VINGSTED JERNALDERLANDSBY, DENMARK – The Iron Age Village in Vingsted

Follow the signs to “Jernaldermiljøet” from the main road through Vingsted. Every year in July, the reconstructed Iron Age settlement at Vingsted (The Iron Age Village is located approx. 20 km west of Vejle), invites families to spend their holiday living like an Iron Age family around 2,000 years ago. The days are spent with the many everyday activities of life in an Iron Age village. http://www.vejlemuseerne.dk/vejlemuseerne-vejle-museums Everyone is welcome to visit the Iron Age village (Skyttevej 12, Bredsten), where you can experience a number of reconstructed Iron Age farms complete with workshops, public events where you can work the land the way Iron Age farmers did as well as try old crafts, take part in ceremonies and feed the animals. The Iron Age village in Vingsted is one of Denmark’s largest reconstructed Iron Age villages where houses, fields, forge, place of sacrifice and livestock comprise a complete Iron Age settlement. The Iron Age village is beautifully situated between meadows, cultivated fields, lake and woodlands.
