BETWEEN MATERIALISM AND TRANSCENDENCY – Jacek Yerka: when the nuances of creativity embrace the world of things and that of fantasy

3post1JACEK YERKA 1/2 – Jacek Yerka is a Polish surrealist painter that was born into an artistic family. What he paints not only speaks to the curiosity of our eyes, but calls for emotional responses, from the bottom of each viewer. As a child, he loved to draw and make sculptures, creating and exploring his own world, which resulted in his love to study fine art and graphic design instead. He claims to have the oldest remember the color of the perfume, ink, paper and brushes. His creativity achieves a synthesis of the culture of the twentieth century, made of materialism and transcendence, where creative shades embrace the world of things and that of imagination.7post2

JACEK YERKA 2/2 – He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University. Every picture is a surprise, a visual thrill, new and different, where the effects are always extremely suggestive. He cites Bosch and Bruegel, Cagliostro, van Eyck and van der Goes as formative influences on his work. His art is a successful cross between surrealism, naive suggestions and fanta-scientific inclinations. His paintings, imaginative and original, are capable of creating emotional spells, with details that create wonder. His subject includes imagery gleaned from his childhood. After an idea has leaned in his mind, it is a pencil that idea materializes, even by coloring with crayons. At that point, the eyes of his wife and three daughters are crucial to give birth to a real painting. 15post3
