PERFUME AND TASTE OF INDIA – Smell like you, and taste as you can, but take your food only with the right hand fingers

A perfectly proportioned man (created by Leonardo da Vinci), correlating the symmetry of human anatomy to the symmetry of the universe. What you see, hear, eat and feel, it’s all inside Meeting Benches way: the Vitruvian approach to life. Forget the food of your house, and for once try to let you capture the flavors and scents of this cuisine so different from yours, where the chicken is cooked in the most varied (kebab, cooked in a sauce of butter, or served with saffron rice). You will also discover the skewers of marinated chicken or goat, but also a dish in many restaurants “Gannet”. You’ll find that it is difficult to find meat of cow or pig (animal considered sacred and dirty respectively, for Hindus and Muslims). Vegetables, everywhere you expect (do not forget that the majority of Hindus are vegetarians). Of all the soups, unmissable is the “dhal” (lentil soup). In coastal areas, it is not difficult to come across some special seafood: shrimp giant of Kerala.

Bread? There are different types of bread (some unleavened, other baked), and all are delicious. “Chapati”, do not forget to taste the biscuit flour. You’ll find that Indian food is spicy, and that – among all the flavors – the most abused is the curry (much used in pasta dishes, as in seconds). As for the desserts, you will not forget the colors, scents and flavors of the “laddus” and “Barfis”, both made from pistachio. Are you a lefty? The Indian etiquette is different from the Western one, the one that you share not only food, but local culture, one that allows you to take only with the right hand (only with the fingers), the food of the Indian family of which you are guest.
