PAINTING ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM IN STYLE: Forget about art and paint pictures of what interests you in life. This is the way of Robert Hooper

EDWARD HOPPER 1/4 – He was born next to the Hudson River north of New York City. He began art studies with a correspondence course. During its life, he is best known for his oil paintings. His search for inspiration, least painfully found in the stimulation of new surroundings.

EDWARD HOPPER 2/4 – Hopper’s parents encouraged his art, with materials, instructional magazines, and illustrated books studing at New York School of Art and Design. As you can see, in its paintings there are something by Manet, Rembrandt and Degas. Sometime, for he it was hard to decide what he feel to paint. So, it comes slowly and, finally, the whole answer, there are on the canvas.

EDWARD HOPPER 3/4 – At the first, he was working in pen-and-ink, charcoal, watercolor, ariving to the oil drawing. As you can observe inside its paintings, geometrical design and careful placement of human figures there are balanced with their environment. He like to paint commonplaces of urban life with still, anonymous figures.

EDWARD HOPPER 4/4 – Later in life, he mostly depicted women as the figures in his paintings. He spent much of his time also drawing street and café scenes. He dead – in a May day – in his studio in New York.
