PALERMO, A MICROCOSM ROWDY AND FASCINATING: To savor the smell of the time, the district Vucciria Ballarò

Good morning, let us embrace. Yes, I’m in shape, your eyes are curious, and I’m dying from the desire to talk to you about our – possible – new destination: Italian island of Sicily, Palermo. I would like you to see the cathedral of that city, architectural splendor illuminating the square, from the year 1184. Not far away, I would like to accompany you in a particular way, which sells delicious salted olives.  If you prefer to walk a little with me, we can come up to the neighborhood of Vucciria, to observe and smell the extraordinary outdoor emporium, one of the pulses, where the protagonists are the colors: those of the pine nuts and sesame seeds fennel and chilli ones.

For lunch, even now I would like to think that we Vucciria, because its fresh fish counter will tickle our taste
buds, forcing us to try the boiled octopus. Bon Appetite. This, I tell you – staring you in the eye – when we are sitting at a table in the “Trattoria
St. Andrew.” We’ll eat a specialty appetizers of vegetables, pasta with
fish sauce and almond flakes.  Already, we have to remember not to go to that restaurant on Tuesday (St Andrew’s Square, Palermo), because it is closing day. I forgot. To sleep, close to Parco della Favorita, there is a hotel that accepts dogs of medium-small size, it is the hotel “Casena of the Hills.” Affordable price, breakfast included.

Of course, you will want to bring home memories of travel. Well. “Salumeria Censuales” – in the alley of Pannieri, 22 – is the place to buy cheese, tomato extract and fresh pasta. For your collection of miniature terracotta, we can go in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the number 120. Why? That is my gift of goodbye: to bring you in that creative place. Why in the laboratory (closed on Sundays), you will see build miniature terracotta, those that reproduce the monuments.  Also I will give a gift, but you’ll have to be a little patient, because the craftsman will have to study the features of your face, shaping with his hands what his eyes tell. As you see I’m smiling, because that artist will in no way your adorable rebellious curl.
